Reduced to just 34 seats in the 2011 federal election, the Liberal Party of Canada under its new leader, Justin Trudeau, secured a stunning 184 seat majority in the election held on October 19, 2015. The next four years of Liberal government will see a major shift in both policy development and direction, notably with respect to energy. Political consultant ‎and strategist Charles Bird will provide an overview of the 2015 federal election, recent developments at the provincial level, and an analysis of what these developments mean for energy stakeholders.

Remembrance Day – Moment of Silence

History

Remembrance Day, known as Veterans Day in the United States, is a day set aside to commemorate and
honor members of the armed forces. It marks the date and time when armies stopped fighting World War I
on November 11th at 11am in 1918 (the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month).
In Canada, people wear poppies on Remembrance Day to show their respect and support for Canadian
troops. Poppies are generally handed out free but often a voluntary donation is given in exchange.
